Don Park is a leading manufacturer and provider of products for the comfort and safety of people at home and at work. The company has over 40 years experience serving the needs of architects, designers and contractors through wholesale operations in the HVAC industry. 1972 - Stanley L. Meek, was a progressive consultant at this time offering his services to a struggling Sheet Metal Manufacturing company with a small customer base in the GTA.
1981 - This year Don Park became a sole proprietorship after many successful business decisions had been made to grow the business. Stanley L. Meek became a business partner to a sole owner. The acquisition of Talarico Ltd. & Brunt Manufacturing occurred. The amalgamation of the two companies & Don Park allowed us to expand our product base to include pipe, duct, fittings and our renowned B-vent.
1984 - Don Park ventured to the USA to offer its successful Canadian Sheet Metal business to US contractors and grew even further 1984 by acquiring Rexway Sheet Metal, introducing its industrial fabrication line.
1988 - A third product segment was added to the company this year. With its success in Sheet Metal and industrial fabrication, Don Park was now offering Fire Protection products with the purchase of Ontario Sprinkler Sales. This is now known as the Fire Protection Division or Don Park Fire located in Concord, ON.
1993 - Another milestone was established when Peachtree Sheet Metal in Atlanta, Georgia, USA was added to the company; this 1993 acquisition enhanced Don Park’s product diversity.
1997 - With its continued and aggressive growth strategy, Don Park, once again, expanded its line of products through the acquisition 1997 of Doughty & Darling to include stainless steel piping & systems, hoods, hoppers, medical gas race ways and more.
1998 - After the tremendous popularity the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning market faced during the 70’s and 80’s, Don Park recognized an opportunity to capitalize on servicing the vast group of heating & air conditioning contractors that emerged. This year marks the introduction of Don Park as a primary Canadian distributor for the Armstrong Air, Concord and AirEase brands of residential and commercial equipment in Ontario.
2000 - As Don Park moved into the new century, expansion to all facets of the business was a key in forecasting a successful future. 2000 During this year, the company acquired Marcraft Distribution Ltd. to carry air distribution products.
2001 - This year was a productive one! Don Park purchased Suburban Distributors in Windsor and Kraemar & Co. in Kitchener which are now one-stop-shop contractor wholesale branches, the undertaking of softflex and steel liner manufacturing as well as distribution of Rheem, Delhi Fans & Nailor Air Distribution products encompassed Don Park as a fully integrated wholesaler, distributor and manufacturer of HVAC and Sheet Metal products.
2003 - This next move called for the addition of several major commercial air handling & distribution lines (Penn, Titus, Ruskin and 2003 Chimney Lining).
2004 - It’s all uphill! During this year, Don Park purchased G. Schlemb Ltd. in Elmvale, Ontario & Kawartha Lakes HVAC in Peterborough, sought major redevelopment of the Barrie branch to include 37,000 sq.ft. of warehousing, opened its new Ottawa branch and integrated Munro Metal Products as a part of the Company, now known as Don Park Hamilton!
2005 - After 33 years of well-timed, intelligent business decisions, President & Chief Executive Officer, Stanley L. Meek restructured his fully incorporated business into a limited partnership with investments by Terravest Industries. The company now has an even better handle on the future and strengthened its core competencies - providing great customer service, quality products and competitive prices.
2007 - President & CEO, Stanley L. Meek in turn appointed a new successor - Peter Olierook. Under new presidency, immediate focus was placed on a Renewed Mission: “Focus On The Customer - One Company, One Team”. This year it is about a total company effort of servicing our customers to the fullest and strengthening existing operations. To move forward, Don Park has taken a good look at its success which is accredited to our customers. This year and years to come will be dedicated in serving you by working as One Company, One Team!
2008 - In continuing the theme One Company, One Team; Don Park set out to make improvements and investments to provide superior customer service. Our Kitchener location moved to a 30,000 sq.ft. facility that included a training room and showroom. Following suit, the Don Park Fire Division also moved into a larger facility that included a state-of-the-art air filtration system.
2009 - Here we grow again! As we continue to focus on our customer Don Park invested in a fleet of new delivery vehicles servicing Ontario. Our Barrie location has also outgrown its previous home and has moved into a larger, state-of-the-art facility. But it doesn’t stop there; Don Park opens the doors to our newest location in St. Catharines, Ontario on June 1, 2009.
2010 - The investment continues! Before the end of March our manufacturing division has launched three new manufactured products; a low profile airtight take off, an aluminum drain pan for water heaters and new airtight round pipe. The Oshawa location has been relocated to a new facility and the Windsor branch is currently under renovations.
2014 - New Brunswick entrepreneur Normand Caissie has acquired Don Park Residential Manufacturing in Toronto.
